Born March 13th, 2004, in Belair, MD, Izzy McRoberts is an east coast artist and an active member of the broader Craft community. McRoberts completed a BFA in Craft and Material Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2026. After moving around the country throughout their youth, Izzy's work now focuses on universal experiences of hurt, healing, and change. With a background in illustration, their works use imagery of human anatomy and subtle gore to facilitate both confrontation and connection. McRoberts’s interactive work combines sculpture and function through woodworking/ furniture design with occasional fiber, metal, and found object accents. Izzy has shown work in galleries including Alma’s RVA, Black Iris, and Artworks RVA where they were awarded 2nd in show. Upon completing a 2026 Summer Workshop Assistantship with the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship Izzy will begin an Emerging Artist Residency at Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft in the fall.
